The Cross

Deeper than oceans
 Higher than mountain peaks
Richness and glory
In stillness I hear You speak......
I am not my own
I belong to Thee

Sorrow has called me home
A place where I'm fully known
My Father he runs to me
My sin He no longer sees
I am not my own
I belong to Thee

You mercy reigns over me
Your mercy reigns over me

The cross is my only hope
Where justice and mercy meet
Broken I come alone
My teardrops will wash His feet
I am not my own
I belong to Thee

You mercy reigns over me
Your mercy reigns over me
You mercy reigns over me
Your mercy reigns over me

Blessing and honor
Power and majesty
Splendor and glory
Praise to the King of Kings

I am not my own I belong to Thee
I am not my own I belong to Thee
I am not my own I belong to Thee

  1. The Cross is a very simple song, but the lyrics hold a lot of weight. It is a reminder that I do not belong to myself - I belong to Jesus. I wanted to portray the image of the both the Father running to embrace the prodigal(me)and also the woman weeping at Jesus feet. The greater the sin, the greater the love when that sin is washed away in His mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgement!
