This is my body broken
Given for you now
This is my blood poured out
That cleanses sin and doubt
No more wandering,
Forsaken and denied
For you belong to me
Come to me my child
So beautiful in my eyes
How I long to see you smile
My song and my desire
This is the love I choose
No greater sacrifice
This is my heart for you
My pure and spotless bride
No more wandering
Lonely in the night
For you belong to me
Come to me my child
So beautiful in my eyes
How I long to see you smile
My joy and my delight
My joy and my delight
So beautiful in my eyes
You were purchased with my life
I am yours and you are mine
How I love you, how I love you
How I love you my child
So beautiful, So beautiful
So beautiful in my eyes.....

I had wanted to write a communion song for my beloved friend Linda Smith as we had planned a time of sharing the elements with her along with many of her friends. The thought that kept running through my mind was how beautiful it was to see her smile in the midst of such a severe battle with ALS. She had shared with me how at one point she could no longer use the muscles in her face to smile and how she later prayed and prayed that God would at least restore that ability to bless her family and those who visited. And He answered her prayer! The story just makes me cry because it is a picture of such beauty and hope in the midst of such trajedy. When Linda would smile it would literally light up the room! This is both Linda's song and a song of the overcoming Bride of Christ.
