A Thousand Tears

For this is what the high and lofty One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: "I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.
Isaiah 57:15

Humbled unto death
Suffered for what's left
Of a lost and dying soul
No one else could know
How You broke down and cried
For the pain I held inside
And The loneliness and fear
How You wept a thousand tears for me

You are not forgotten
Each tear He saves
Are treasured words unspoken
That become a healing rain
A healing rain

High and lifted up
Glorious above
Healer of my soul
No one else could know
How I broke down and cried
When I looked into Your eyes
And the hope of what will be
As you wept a thousand tears for me

You are not forgotten
Each tear He saves
Are treasured words unspoken
That become a healing rain
All heaven rejoices
in healing rain
Pools of blessing come
 in the healing rain

  1. This song (and several others) was originally inspired by my friend, Linda Smith who for over seven years, battled with ALS (Lou Gehrig disease). When I first met her, she was completely bedridden and could move nothing but her eyes; her lips just a tiny bit. Linda had four young children and was one of the most amazing and courageous women I know. She'd roll her eyes at me saying that, but over the span of 14 months we became really close. Just looking at her photo was a reality check for me and I cannot tell you how many times she would jokingly say to me (in the midst of a pity party), "Suck it up cupcake!" We would laugh so hard. This is the first song I wrote for Linda and she would often ask me to sing it. Linda passed away in November of 2010.
